Homeward Bound
My week in St. Louis has been pretty great. I worked in two different physicians offices and met several of my coworkers. My first few days were in a western suburb of St. Louis at a orthopedic office that was top notch. Excuse me for showing my athletic training side, but this place was incredible. This placed housed about 20 doctors, a physical therapy clinic, a surgery center and even a Starbucks. No expense was spared and they are now handling around 300 patients A DAY! My OrthoRx cohort ran the place without a glitch. I can only hope that the practice they are giving me down in Atlanta will be half as nice!
The past two days I was in downtown St. Louis at one of the largest hospitals/medical schools in the country. This hospital has over 1,000 doctors running around within its walls! I’m really not sure how everyone knew where to go and not get lost in the process. The place was HUGE! I had a great time meeting several more of my coworkers and learning the basics of what I will be doing. It felt fantastic to be back in a doctors office and to be able to interact with the patients again. I think this new job may just work!
Of course I managed to break away one afternoon and make the short drive down to the river to see The Arch. I still don’t really know the significance of it… but after much inquiry, I don’t think the locals do either.
I pick up my keys to my new apartment tomorrow morning. I have a half day of computer training in Atlanta on Monday and then leave Tuesday night for Dallas, TX. I hope to find a few minutes in between now and than to move….
And there is my flight.
